It's a new year and this is the month when we get to see how well the new timetable really performs.

0615 Portsmouth Habrour - London Waterloo : The train unusually was late leaving both Petersfield and Haslemere but was back on time when it left Guildford and Woking. we had a very good run up to Waterloo and would have arrived four minutes early if we hadn't have waited at International Junction - just outside Waterloo. In the end we arrived at 0753 - 2 minutes early. |
2200 London Waterloo - Portsmouth Harbour : A pair of Class 450 trains for the trip home. We left on time and made good progress - arriving between 1 and two minutes early at each station. We even arrived early at Fratton at 2327 (2 minutes early) - yes! It now seems that is just the Classs 444 trains that struggle with the Havant to Fratton timing! |

0615 Portsmouth Habrour - London Waterloo : First morning back and yes as expected it was busy (although the tube wasn't!). The train complied with the timetable and arrived on time at 0755. |
1700 London Waterloo - Portsmouth Harbour : As usual we had a good run down to each station - never being late. We waited four minutes just north of Havant junction as we were early and rolled into Havant on time. However again, the 10 car Desiro train could not keep to time betwen Havant and Fratton and rolled in one minute late at 1830! It appears that the Desiros travel slower round the curve between Farlington Junction and Portcreek Junction than the old slamdoor trains but I don't know why! |
